A QR code is a way of presenting payment details. It is not a promise that every payment app can read it, every card supports it, or every type of transfer is allowed.

Before depending on Jupiter QR Pay, separate two questions: Can my card use the feature? and Does this merchant’s payment network work with it? Those are different checks.

Check card eligibility before the merchant network

The current QR Pay documentation limits access to DCS-issued cards and adds country-of-issuance or activation-date restrictions. It lists cards issued in Vietnam and the Philippines as supported, while some other issuance markets depend on activation dates. Inspect the current table and your app rather than inferring access from your travel destination. QR Pay eligibility

A traveler paying in one country may have a card issued in another. The country where you are standing is not a shortcut around the card-level requirement. Our learning tools do not determine your issuer or inspect your account.

Check the network at the counter

The documentation lists merchant networks including QR Ph in the Philippines and VietQR in Vietnam. At the research check, Singapore’s SG QR and Thailand’s PromptPay were marked temporarily unavailable. Availability is dated information, not a promise that a specific merchant will accept your payment today. Payment-network availability

Ask the merchant which payment they expect. A QR code on a counter might be a personal receiving account rather than a supported merchant flow. Do not convert a merchant-payment tutorial into instructions for an unsupported person-to-person transfer.

Make the payment deliberately

Open Spend in the legitimate app and use the scanner described in the current instructions. Read the merchant or recipient identity and currency on the review screen. If a printed sticker appears altered, the name is unexpected, or the merchant is uncertain, use another method.

Confirm the amount together with the merchant before authorizing. Keep the app open until the result is clear, and ask the merchant to check receipt. Your phone displaying a confirmation is useful, but their own record is what helps settle any disagreement.

Compare the final charge, not a headline

The documentation describes QR Pay without payer or recipient fees, but that does not erase a cost you may have paid earlier to fund the account. Nor does it mean card rewards apply: QR transactions are excluded from the card cashback program. QR terms · Reward exclusions

Use the method that works for the purchase. Do not spend extra time at a busy checkout trying to recover a tiny theoretical saving while ignoring compatibility or a poor connection. Keep a conventional alternative available.

If the screen is stuck or the merchant sees nothing

Pause rather than scan and pay again immediately. Check whether the first transaction is pending, failed, or completed. Save the reference privately and ask the merchant to check their receiving record. A second attempt can create two separate payments.

For an unresolved account issue, use in-app support or the official support hub. Never send a stranger a card security code, login code, or recovery phrase to “release” a QR payment. Official support

When QR Pay is not the right tool

Someone who needs money in a bank account should evaluate a bank-payout route, not assume a merchant QR feature is a general remittance service. Likewise, an online purchase needing card details is a separate payment flow.

Choose the route for the recipient’s real need. A supported merchant network is useful, but it is not a universal bridge between every app, bank, wallet, and country.
